Recap:

Both Worcester and Rivier were hungry for a goal in order to set the tone for the game. There was high-speed play up and down the ice, and Worcester outshot Rivier 22-7. In the final minute of the first period, Lancer senior Sydney Vautour (Hamilton, MA) scored the first goal of the game assisted by fellow seniors Anya Laxton (Holbrook, NY) and Cassidhe Wozniak (Turners Falls, MA).

The Lancers took control of the game in the second period, with a barrage of scoring. The first goal of the period came from senior Cassidhe Wozniak assisted by Vautour and first-year Fiona Hatton (Homer, AK) in the second minute. Then, junior Kiersten Erickson (Broomfield, CO) would find the back of the net just three minutes later on a feed from senior Shelby Reaugh (Raleigh, NC) and Hatton. The fourth goal came from the blueline shot by first-year Olivia Fehl (Sergeant Bluff, IA). Rivier could not push against the pressure to lessen the scoring gap and the Lancers would close out the period with a 4-0 lead.

Under two minutes into the third period, Worcester State scored their fifth goal of the game. Lancer first year Madelyn Franta (Superior, WI) scored, assisted by Reaugh and Fehl. Worcester State's Wozniak struck again, scoring her second goal of the evening with assists from Vautour and sophomore goaltender Kelsey Czerniawski (Chicopee, MA). The Lancers would wrap the game with a 7-0 victory, improving to 2-3-1 on the season.
