Patrick F. Carmody, your accomplishments in track and football
are well documented and you achieved All American status at the
NCAA Division III National Outdoor Track Championships in the
hammer throw in 1985 and 1986. Not only did you gain individual
fame but you also provided inspiration and leadership to your
teammates.
You earned 12 varsity letters while participating for four years
in football, outdoor and indoor track. Your leadership qualities
were recognized and you were selected a captain of all three teams
in your senior year.
At the NCAA's you had a throw of 172' 3" in 1985 and 170' 5" in
1986 in the hammer throw and you also established the Worcester
State College record of 174' 2" in the hammer in 1985. You were
also selected All New England in track in your junior and senior
years.
You were named a captain of Worcester State's first varsity
football team in 1985 and were the starting center on a team that
went 5-0 that year. You also were a member of the Club football
team for three years. In 1986 you were selected the City of
Worcester Scholar Athlete of the Year and were also named a
National Football Foundation Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete in your
junior year.
You are currently an environmental engineer at New England Power
Service Company.
