Francis Joubert '63 was an outstanding baseball player for the Lancers for four years and was a team captain in 1963. He started every game during his four year career and played every infield position. He finished with a career batting average of .369, which was the school record at that time. Frank hit a lofty .469 in 1961, seventh best all time for a single season, and is ranked 13th all time for career batting averages. He was treasurer of the Men's Athletic Association at Worcester State.

Frank has been a coach since graduating in 1963. He coached at Marlborough Junior High for two years and his teams had an undefeated season in both baseball and football. From the Junior High, Frank moved to the Senior High School as an assistant coach in basketball, baseball and football for four years. He was an umpire and member of the Worcester Area Baseball Umpire's Association for 13 years. Franks has been coaching and teaching science at Westboro Junior High, now the Gibbons Middle School, since 1978. Frank started the girl's basketball team and has compiled a 249-60 record, with four undefeated seasons! The team is currently on a 53-game winning streak.
