The 1973-74 Ice Hockey Team
Title: Class of 2005

The 1973-74 Worcester State College Ice Hockey Team was one of the top teams in the history of Worcester State College winning the ECAC Division III championship defeating Wesleyan University by the score of 11-5 in the championship game.  The Lancers finished the season unbeaten in Division III action with a 8-0-1 record and were 14-7-1 overall.  After the season the honors rolled in for individuals from that team.  Junior forward Marv Degon was named a NAIA  All-American at forward while senior Fran Johnson was named the ECAC Division III Player of the Year.  Degon and Rick Gliesman earned All-ECAC 1at Team honors at forward, while Johnson earned the honor for his defensive work.

It is with great pleasure that we induct the 1973-74 Worcester State College Ice Hockey Team into the Worcester State College Athletic Hall of Fame.
