Worcester State Football Announces 2022 Schedule

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Football program, headed up by third-year Head Coach Adam Peloquin, who removed the interim from his title this past winter, officially announces their 2022 Football schedule. The Lancers squad aim to improve upon their 3-7 record from last season with the help of an experienced squad, headed by returning Junior Ke’Vaughn Davis, MASCAC First Team All-Conference Selection. The schedule consists of two non-conference opponents and a complete schedule of MASCAC opponents. There is an even split of five games to be held at John Coughlin Memorial Field, and the additional five games that will see the Lancers squad hitting the road.

The team kicks-off their season at home in a Friday night showdown, hosting cross town opponent WPI on Friday, September 2nd before traveling to Schenectady the following week to look for retaliation for last season’s home opening lost versus Union College.

The Lancers remaining scheduled eight games sees them locked in with MASCAC opponents. They open up conference play on September 17 at Fitchburg State before returning back home for a Saturday Homecoming matchup against UMass-Dartmouth.

Following a mid-season bi-week, the Lancers head into October back on the road to face off against Bridgewater State on October 8th. The team then returns home for back-to-back Saturday home games, first versus Mass Maritime, followed up by Plymouth State before hitting the road to close out the month in Danbury for their match-up against Western Connecticut State.

Peloquin, and the team, wrap up their regular season in November with a home rivalry match up on November 5, also currently slated to be the teams Senior Day, against Westfield State before closing out the regular season at Framingham State.

“The players and coaches are very excited for the 2022 season” say Peloquin. “We are returning a core group of players that saw significant playing time last year, and combined with a strong incoming recruiting class our expectations are high. There are no easy games in the MASCAC, and we are excited to compete every week this season”.
