Rob Ruggiero brings a unique and relevant playing and coaching experience to the Worcester State University football staff as he joins the team as a linebackers coach in the fall of 2016.

Ruggiero was not only a standout college football player for both Springfield College and Bridgewater State University, but he also had the opportunity of a lifetime to join the Indianapolis Colts organization in 2014 as an inside linebacker after being named the MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year and earning All-America honors in his lone season with the Bears. Ruggiero, an All-New England and All-ECAC North selection, was picked as the top defensive lineman at the All American Bowl, winning the Jim Marshall Award.

Ruggiero held strength & conditioning coaching positions for both Stonehill and Bridgewater State University before he became the founder of Summit Performance Center in 2016 which is located in Bristol, R.I. There, he is responsible for the scheduling and implementation of the programs for athletes, along with promoting a positive physical wellbeing.

Additional coaching experience includes a stint as the Assistant Coordinator of Scouting at Bridgewater State University.

The Acton, Mass. native graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Studies.
