Antonelli Tabbed LEC Field Hockey Rookie of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's freshman field hockey player, Olivia Antonelli (Westford, Mass.) has been tabbed the Little East Conference (LEC) field hockey rookie of the week for her performance in the second week of play (Sep. 5-11).

"Olivia had a great week on the field," commented interim head coach, Alexa Carlson. "She's learning quickly to be in the right spot at the right time and has excellent decision making skills."

The rookie tallied four points with to back-two-back goals in the 4-1 win against Salve Regina on Thursday (Sep. 8). – one of which was a game winning goal. Antonelli not only recorded her first goal of her collegiate career, but also her second-ever in Tuesday night's contest.

"She continuously creates offensive opportunities for all of us over the field and is a student of the game," added Carlson. "She is always itching to learn more and perform even better."

"I expect that she will continue to be a strong offensive threat for our team as the season progresses," expressed Carlson.

This week the Lancers field hockey team will travel across town to WPI on Tuesday (Sep. 13) for a 7:00 p.m. matchup at WPI, and then will resume conference play on Friday (Sep. 16) when they host Salem State at 7:00 p.m.
