Casey Gomes begins his second year on the sidelines as an assistant coach for the Worcester State men's soccer team.

Before coming to Worcester State, Coach Gomes served in the capacity of being the freshman coach at Ludlow High from 2010-12 and as an assistant varsity coach, he helped guide his squad to consecutive Division I Boys Soccer State Championships in each of the last two seasons.

After graduating with a degree in History from UMass Dartmouth, Coach Gomes left behind a solid three-year career, competing as a varsity member at outside wing in the midfield playing in 40 out of a possible 52 matches.

In his senior season, he played a role in the squads runner-up finish in the 2009 Little East Championship Tournament game and he was voted the Most Improved Player by his teammates and coaches after returning from an ACL injury.

As a player at Ludlow High, Coach Gomes was the starting center midfielder on the Western Massachusetts finalists.

Since 2011, Coach Gomes has worked at the Amaral Soccer Academy in Westfield, MA.
