Mazieka Leads Men's Cross Country To Seventh At Emmanuel Saints Invitational

Boston, MA --- Junior Tim Mazeika (Millbury, MA) placed 29th overall with a time of 29:51 to help pace the Worcester State men's cross country team to finish in seventh out of 16 teams at the  Emmanuel Saints Invitational at Franklin Park in Boston on Friday afternoon.

Johnson & Wales won the men's race with 35 points followed by Babson (48) and Lesley (131). The Lancers (185) were ahead of both MASCAC schools Salem State (206; 9th) and Mass Maritime (238; 11th) as there were 156 total entrants in the 7.95k competition.

Sophomore Pat Daley (Millbury, MA) notched 34th (30:06) as freshman Patrick Bova (Princeton, MA) added 37th (30:12) and junior Michael Berkowicz (Whitinsville, MA) registered 42nd (30:31).

The top seven were rounded out by freshman Adam Pepin (Paxton, MA), junior Kerry Sabanty (Stoughton, MA) and second-year Zach Creeden (Billerica, MA) who each finished 66th (31:40), 74th (32:13) and 77th (32:18), respectively.

The Blue and Gold will compete at the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships in two weeks from Saturday at UMass Dartmouth.
