Storro, Rich Named MASCAC Softball Player, Pitcher of the Week
 

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Sophomore Katie Storro (Leominster, MA) and freshman Meghan Rich (Chelmsford, MA) were both selected MASCAC Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, as they helped pace the Lancers to a pair of victories.

Storro batted .555 (8-15) with a triple, two doubles and three RBIs in a 2-2 week for the Lancers which included a near-cycle performance with a trio of plated runs in a 5-2 triumph over Salem State. She also scored their lone run in a 2-1 eight-inning setback to the Vikings.

Through the first 13 games of the season, Storro is swatting .366 with four runs, four RBIs and she is 2-for-3 on the basepaths. Storro is one of five members of the softball team who are in the top 10 in the MASCAC in batting as she is currently fifth.

Rich posted a 2-0 mark with a 1.08 earned run average and 12 strikeouts in 13 innings. She fanned six and yielded one earned run in a 6-4 win over Rhode Island College before wrapping up her stellar week with six punch outs in a complete-game 5-2 win over the Vikings.

In six appearances (five starts), Rich has had an outstanding start to her first-year campaign as she has posted a 3-2 record with a 1.35 ERA to go with 20 strikeouts in 31.1 innings.

Rich is currently second in the MASCAC in ERA and earned runs allowed (6) while she is also 10th in strikeouts and 11th in innings pitched.

The Lancers are currently 7-6 overall and 1-1 in the conference standings. They will take on MCLA at 12 PM at home on Saturday.
