Worcester State University Women's Soccer Release 2022 Schedule

Worcester, MA- Head Coach Kevin Cumberbatch announces the release of the 2022 Worcester State Women’s Soccer schedule. The 2022 season is Cumberbatch’s 15th at the helm, where he hopes to continue his perennial success with another MASCAC Finals appearance. The Lancers squad ended their 2021 season 9-7-2, falling in the MASCAC Championship game by a goal to Westfield. The team looks to repeat their success of the 2019 season with a MASCAC Championship and another NCAA Tournament berth. The team will be led by seniors Hailey Skowronski and Kristen Beidleman, both MASCAC Second Team All-Conference selection from last season, and a talented group of returners and incoming first years.

The Women’s Soccer team begins their season with two opening weekend non-conference road trips, the first on Thursday, September 1st, in Norton, MA to face-off against Wheaton College before returning back to Worcester on September 3rd, to travel the two miles to face-off against Clark University Cougars. The Lancers open up their home schedule on September 9th with a Friday Night match-up against WPI. The next four games see a pair of away and home matchups, with the team travelling to Gordon and Salve Regina, before starting their conference schedule versus MCLA and  go up against no-conference opponent Keene state at home.

The remainder of the season is a steady home and away slate with the team heading to Curry College on September 22nd preceding a conference stretch of away games. First up is October 1st when Westfield State will host the rematch of the MASCAC Championship teams, in what is expected to be a battle of top seeds mid-way through the season. The Lancers will also be travelling to fellow MASCAC opponents Bridgewater State and Framingham State, while hosting contests versus Fitchburg State, Salem State and UMass Dartmouth, the currently scheduled game to honor the graduating seniors on October 26th. The lone remaining non-conference battle of the second half of the season is scheduled for October 4th versus Western Connecticut.
