Worcester State 6, Anna Maria 3
Paxton, MA --- Worcester State took five singles matches and the last doubles set to defeat Anna Maria 6-3 this afternoon at Wachusett High. With the win the Lancers improve to 4-7 while the AMCATS finish their season at 3-13 overall.
Ashley Perkins (Worcester, MA/Doherty), Albana Xhemollari (Worcster, MA/North), Nicole Sellner (N. Attleboro, MA), Jaqueline Shaw (Uxbridge, MA) and Lauren Cain (Framingham, MA) all posted convincing victories in their respective singles matches. Sellner and Shaw teamed together to take third-doubles, 8-0.
Anna Maria's victories came from Laura Curtis (Fairfield, PA) at sixth singles and they took first and second doubles. Dominque Marchand along with Marissa Boss (Holden, MA) and the dou of Mary Marciano (Warwick, RI) and Mariel Marfongelli (Salem, MA) won their respective matches 8-6.
Two games remain in the independent schedule for WSC as they will face off against Wentworth on Saturday (12 PM) before they travel to Clark to end the season next Tuesday (5 PM).
