Ouellette, Stahelski Selected MASCAC Track-Field Athletes of the Week

Worcester, MA --- Sophomore classmates Andrea Ouellette (Salisbury, MA) and RJ Stahelski (South Deerfield, MA) have been named MASCAC Track and Field Athletes for their performances at the Tartan Invitational this past weekend. Junior Jim Macera (Paxton, MA) and freshman Sarah Rafferty (Attleboro, MA) were also tabbed to the honor roll for their accomplishments.

Ouellette picked up her second MASCAC Female Field accolade after she jumped a season best 10.91 meters in the triple jump for her third individual title in six meets this season as she also qualified for the ECACs in the process.

Stahelski, who received this week’s nod as the MASCAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, broke the men’s indoor track record in the 600 meter run in second place with a time of 1:26.69 eclipsing it by just .01 of a second. The previous mark was held by current assistant coach Matt Swett.

Macera was distinguished on the MASCAC Track and Field Men’s honor roll after he threw a distance of 15.12 meters in the weight throw to make the standard for the ECAC’s as he placed third while also finishing tenth in the shot put (11.07 meters).

Rafferty garnered a spot on the MASCAC Track and Field Women’s honor roll after she clocked a season-best 7.58 in the 55 meter dash while helping anchor the 4 x 200 relay team to a spot in the ECAC’s with a time of 1:52.42. Rafferty along with classmates Maura Kralian (Grafton, MA) and Andrea Lisacki (Woburn, MA) and sophomore Becky Galipeau (Bellingham, MA) teamed up to set the school record in the relay.

The Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field teams will travel on Saturday to Southern Maine for the MASCAC/New England Alliance Championships.
