Women’s Cross Country Finishes 7th at Tufts Invitational

Grafton, MA --- The Worcester State women's cross country team officially kicked off its season last Saturday as they finished in seventh place in the Tufts Jumbo Invitational at Tufts Grafton Farm 5k course.   The top finishers were Tufts, Connecticut College and Division II Stonehill.

Junior Kara Antrim (Rowley, MA) was the Lancers top finisher as she crossed the finish line in 38th at 21:52.26 while freshman classmates Maura Withington (Walpole, MA) and Meg Plant (Franklin, MA) placed 83rd (23:58.20) and 88th (24:49.39), respectively. Freshman Rachel Sullivan (Ipswich, MA) registered 90th (24:58.94) while junior Adrienne Fisher (Wilmington, MA) took 103rd (27:04.68) to round out the scoring for Worcester State.

Next week the Lancers will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. The first gun will sound at 1 PM.
