Worcester State Loses To Framingham State, 83-55

Framingham, MA --- The Framingham State College men's basketball team picked up their second Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) win of the season at home tonight 83-55 over the visiting Lancers of Worcester State College.  The Rams improve to 2-1 in the conference and 7-9 overall, while the Lancer are still in search of their first conference win at 0-3 and 7-9 overall.

The Rams opened the game on an 11-2 run over the first five minutes and never looked back as they shot 50% from the floor for the game, while the Lancers only connected on 27% of their offerings.  The Rams 39% from three point range for the game, to the Lancers 27%.

Freshman guard Michael Hines (Boston, MA) led five Rams in double figures with a team high 20 points on 8 of 11 from the field.  Fellow freshman Royce Veal (Dorchester, MA) added 13 points and 4 assists, while senior center Rob Scarpato (Hopkinton, MA) was 5 of 7 from the field for 12 points and hauled in 7 boards.  Michael Costa (Holbrook, MA), who had a team high 9 rebounds, and Josue Almodovar (Holyoke, MA) added 11 and 10 points respectively.

The Lancers were led by senior guard Will Spont (Bellingham, MA) who picked up a double double with a game high 25 points and 10 rebounds.  Justin Sheehan (Carver, MA) and Ryan Frassica (Brockton, MA) added 7 points a piece.

The Framingham State Rams return to action on Saturday January 26th as they travel to Salem State for a 3:00 game, while the Lancers travel to MCLA on Saturday at 4:00.
