Chicopee, MA --- Junior Bob Bruso (Auburn, MA) fired a 75 (+3) to help propel to Worcester State finish in fourth place, twenty strokes off the lead, at the Blazer Invitational hosted by Elms at the par 72 Chicopee Country Club. Bruso ended his day tied for second, just two strokes off from medal honors.
Nichols won the event, led by Shawn Santos who was the top finisher (73; +1) with a total of 310 followed by Franklin Pierce (319), Brandies (320) and Worcester State (330).
Chris Ellis (Charlton, MA) was the next highest finisher as he tied for 20th with an 84 (+12). Tim Howard (Dudley, MA) tied for 22nd (85; +13), Mike Leveroni (Arlington, MA) notched an 86 in 26th (+14) and Dave Urella (Worcester, MA) rounded out the field with a 90 (+18) as he tied for 29th.
Worcester State heads to Williams this weekend for a two day tournament starting on Saturday.
