Andrade Hits Game-Winning Goal in Double-Overtime

Worcester, MA --- Senior Brian Andrade (Hudson, MA) netted the match ending marker to propel Worcester State 1-0, in double overtime, over Salem State in MASCAC Men's Soccer action this evening at Coughlin Stadium.

With the win the Lancers improve to 7-9-2 and 4-3 in the conference while the Vikings slip to 13-3-1 and 5-2 in the MASCAC. The game marked the end of the regular season for both teams. The seeding's for the conference tournament will be announced on Monday or Tuesday afternoon.

Salem State finished leading in shots 35-18, which included a 33-13 advantage through the first 100 minutes of play. WSC then went on the offensive in the second half of play as they finished the last overtime period leading in shots 5-2.

Lancers sophomore Evan Wilga (Dudley, MA) was outstanding as he stopped all nine of the shots that he faced while earning his second shutout of the season. Senior Pawel Brzykcy (Krakow, Poland) started in net for the Vikings and he was not called upon to make a save.
