Brasil Named 2015 MASCAC Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Year, while Brasil and Dent Earn a spot on All-Conference Teams

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Worcester State University's freshman forward, Bryan Brasil, has been tabbed as the 2015 MASCAC Rookie of the Year after a first-year with the Lancers that saw the Williamsburg, Mass. native tally the second most assists in the league (5) and third most goals (10) and points (25).

 
 

Conor Murtagh of Bridgewater State is the 2015 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and headlines the All-Conference Team as voted on by the coaches from around the league.

 
 

This is the second straight year that the senior from Walpole, Mass received the accolade as he was named the 2014 MASCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Year last season. He led the conference in goals with 14, points with 32 and game-winning goals at seven while also tallying the second most shots in the league with 82. He is currently second in Division III in game-winning goals.

 
 

For his efforts in helping the Bears earn a spot in the MASCAC Tournament, Brendan Adams of Bridgewater State is the 2015 Champion's Choice Men's Soccer Coach of the Year.

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's first Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC core member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013.
