The Worcester State University Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that Neal White has been named the head coach of the Worcester State University men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track & field teams.  White replaces Matt Swett and Andrea Ouellete who left Worcester State earlier this year to continue their careers outside of athletics.

“We are excited to hand the keys over to Neal to oversee the Lancers Men’s and Women’s Track & Field programs” said Worcester State Director of Athletics Michael Mudd. “He comes to us highly recommended from various members of the collegiate and high school track & field communities.  His experiences in the sport will be of great value to our student-athletes”

White has extensive experience coaching track & field at both the high school and college levels. In his most recent stint, he was the volunteer track & field coach at Franklin High School, where he coached the Panthers girls’ team to a Hockomock League Championship this past spring.

Prior to Franklin High, White served as a sprints coach at Division I Brown University and was the assistant track & field coach at Division I Bryant University. In four years at Bryant, he coached 15 student-athletes to school record marks in sprints, throws, and jumps.

Away from track & field, White is the owner of the Franklin Agway in Franklin, Mass.

“I am really excited to be a part of the program at Worcester State” said White.. I was impressed by the facilities and the campus during my tour. Worcester State has had some great coaches in recent years and I hope to continue that tradition to help our student- athletes succeed on the track and in the classroom.”

White will take over the Lancers Track & Field program immediately.
