Worcester, MA --- Sophomore Duy Truong was recently featured on NESN for his remarkable story in coming back from a severe head injury. Truong is a standout hurdler, sprinter and jumper on the men's track and field team. This past month, he ran the lead leg to help Worcester State claim the 4x200 meter relay title and eclipse the school record at the ECAC Division III Championships.
During his senior year at Doherty High in Worcester (in 2010), Truong was hit over the head with a baseball bat while trying to escape a brawl in Amherst, MA, which resulted in a severe skull fracture and swelling of the brain.
After much rehabilitation and taking his final year of high school off from competing in sports, Truong returned to the track where he has succeeded and become one of Worcester State's most consistent student-athletes this season as an All-MASCAC and Division III New England performer.
