Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country team are pleased to announce their scheduled meets for the 2023 course schedule. Both teams are looking to come off of impressive finishes last season in their bid to a MASCAC Championship meet that will be hosted by Worcester State at the end of October. This year’s squads are filled with young talent that will be led by an impressive array of upperclassman returners that look to make their mark in DIII. “We have a young team this year, and it will be a great opportunity for the rising upperclassman to step up now that they are the leaders of the team,” says assistant coach Nicole Gaffney, “I'm looking forward to seeing what they can accomplish.”
The Cross-Country season kicks off on September 2nd when the teams travel to Fitchburg State to compete in the Jim Sheehan Invitational. September 16th will see the team’s journey to UMass-Dartmouth for the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational prior to the September 30th Keene State invitational. October will see the teams travel to Westfield State for the James Earley Invitational before one final regular season meet on October 12th at the Suffolk Invite.
The Lancers will then play host to the MASCAC Championship on Friday October 27th in Devon, MA in their bid for a MASCAC Championship before competing on November 11th at the NCAA DIII East Championships where they will look to qualify to the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
