Jennifer Kapenas begins her sixth year at the helm of the Worcester State softball program.

With an overall coaching record of 105-87-1, Coach Kapenas guided the Lancers to back-to-back MASCAC Regular Season titles in 2011 and 2012.

In 2011, the Blue and Gold eclipsed the school record for wins (29-11) and earned their first trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament since 1987 with thier first-ever MASCAC Tournament Championship. 

Coach Kapenas, who has also been recognized by her peers as the Turfer MASCAC Coach of the Year in each of the last two seasons, also brought the squad to the ECAC Division III New England Tournament in 2010, 2012 and 2013. She helped pilot the 2010 team to the ECAC semifinals and in 2013 as the seventh seed, the Lancers made it all the way to the ECAC Championship game.

Coach Kapenas was previously an assistant coach for Lynne Olson for six seasons before Olson retired in 2008. Kapenas received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology with a minor in secondary education from Fitchburg State.
