Title: Assistant Coach - Pitching

Michaella Mahoney enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Worcester State Softball program. Coach Mahoney, a standout southpaw for the Lancers, will take the reigns as the squads pitching coach.

Coach Mahoney is a three-time All-MASCAC softball pitcher and was named the 2011 MASCAC Softball Player of the year. En route to batting .406 with seven homers and a school-record 40 RBIs and posting a 16-4 record with a 1.37 earned run average, she would help lead the Lancers to their first-ever MASCAC Tournament Championship and their second NCAA Division III Tournament berth in 2011. 

Coach Mahoney was also named the 2011 MASCAC Tournament MVP for posting a 3-0 record as she fanned 18 in 19 innings of work and did not allow an earned run.

Among career leaders in the all-time softball book, Coach Mahoney is third in earned run average (1.60) and earned runs allowed (95) while she is fourth in strikeouts (384), games won (38) and games pitched (68). As a hitter, she is second all-time in walks (49) and third in homers (12).

Coach Mahoney also helped lead Shrewsbury High t o the 2006 Division 1 Massachusetts State Tournament Championship.
