
Worcester, MA- After claiming their first conference championship in program history, the Worcester State Women's Lacrosse team had three named to the MASCAC weekly honors. Seniors Hannah Erickson (Dunstable, MA) and Olivia LaValle (Peabody, MA) along with first year Alexis Hurley (Feeding Hills, MA) took home the recognition.
Erickson scored 11 goals and an assist for 12 points for the Lancers to help them to their first-ever MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament title. Netted six goals and an assist in the 19-14 semifinal win over Bridgewater State then turned around and netted five goals in the 13-11 championship game victory over Framingham State.
LaValle, claiming her third weekly honor this season, stopped 25 shots and a 50 save percentage on her way to earning MASCAC Tournament MVP honors as the Lancers won their first-ever MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament title. Made 15 saves in the 19-14 semifinal win over Bridgewater State. Recorded her 400th career save in the 13-11 MASCAC Championship win!
Hurley helped lead the defense as the Lancers won their first-ever MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament title. She matched top players for both games and came up with 2 GB and 2 CT as well. She limited key players to minimal points, and was essential in helping the team go 87.5% successful on clears.
Worcester State is back in action on Saturday when they journey to Wesleyean to take on Babson in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
