Patrick Carleton Named MASCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

WESTFIELD, Mass. - Patrick Carleton (Tewksbury, Mass.), a sophomore on the Worcester State University men's cross country team, has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Runner of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday morning.

Competing in last Saturday's Western New England University Invitational, Carleton ran a personal best time of 26:14 to place second at the meet. The time was the fastest 8k run by a Lancer this season.

Carleton is the first athlete from the men's cross country team to win a weekly award from the conference this season.

The Lancers will be off until Saturday, November 2, when they host the MASCAC Championships at Moore State Park. The men's five-mile race will begin at 11 a.m., with the women's 5k to follow at noon.
