Carol (Blute) Ryan '77
Title: Class of 2001

Carol (Blute) Ryan, '77 was a four-sport participant at Worcester State College and earned an impressive 14 varsity letters! Her leadership qualities were well documented as she was selected captain of both the basketball and softball teams.

During her tenure at Worcester State College, Carol also participated in field hockey and volleyball.

As the field hockey goalie for the 1973 and 1974 Massachusetts State College Conference (MASCAC) championship teams, and at the time of her graduation she held the record for most career shutouts. She was also selected as goalie to the Northeast College Field Hockey Association All Star 1st Teams in 1975 and 1976.

Carol was named to the Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities while at Worcester State College and the Who's Who Among American Secondary School Teachers in 1999.

She has been a teacher and coach at St. Peter-Marian High School for the past 25 years. Carol has served as head coach and assistant coach in the soccer, basketball and softball programs having won a total of 36 conference, district or state championships over the years.
