Sneak Peek Inside the Under-Construction Wellness Center

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State student-athletes, Paul Brooks (’17) and Emily Visconti (’18) of the men’s basketball and women’s track & field teams took a look inside the still-under-construction Wellness Center, scheduled to open in September 2016.

“I have had the opportunity to recently take a hard hat tour of the new Wellness Center and let me tell you that our students, faculty, and alumni are about to experience something special in coming months,” commented Director of Athletics, Michael Mudd.

The new $52.6 million, 101,000 square foot facility will replace a gym building built in 1958 and feature athletic space, instructional space, studio space, student health facilities, and community space. A few of the highlights include a competition gymnasium, a multi-purpose gymnasium, elevated track, two-floor fitness center, golf simulator, and many more.

“Our students, student-athletes, coaches, and faculty have demonstrated tremendous patience over the past four years as we awaited the completion of this building,” added Mudd. “I am happy to say that they will soon be rewarded for their support.”
