Hunter Selected As Co-MASCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- For the second time this season, sophomore Robert Hunter (St. Louis, MI) has been honored as Co-MASCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his solid performance this past week for Worcester State.

Hunter averaged 27.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Lancers which included 36 points, 11 boards and four steals in a 91-87 overtime victory over Fitchburg State before he logged team-highs of 19 points and 10 caroms in an 81-50 setback against Bridgewater State. Hunter would also finish the week shooting 52 percent from the field (22-for-42).

In his first season wearing a Lancer uniform, Hunter has been outstanding on the offensive and defensive end as he currently leads the MASCAC in total rebounds (248), he is second in average rebounding (10.3 RPG) and he is third in average scoring (16.3 PPG) and total scoring (390). Hunter is also tied for fifth in average steals (2.0 SPG) and is 14th in field goal percentage (.461)

As of this past Thursday, Hunter is 20th in the NCAA Division III (7th in New England) in average rebounds while his 15 double-doubles are tied for the fifth-highest total this season.

Hunter last copped MASCAC Player of the Week honors on December 12 for averaging 19 points and 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in a 0-2 week for Worcester State in three losing margins that totaled seven points.

The Lancers (8-16, 5-6 MASCAC) will close out the regular season on Saturday at home on "Senior Night" against Salem State.
