Men's Golf Takes Home Second At Worcester City Championships

 

Sutton, MA --- Nichols sophomore Kevin Wheeler (Agawam, MA) fired a 75 (+3) to earn medalist honors at the Worcester City Men's Golf Tournament to help the Bison capture the 2012-13 crown this afternoon at the par 72 Blackstone National Golf Club hosted by Worcester State.

With a final score of 336, Nichols edged out Worcester State (337) for the championship while Becker was third tallying 374 strokes.

The Bison were also led by sophomore Jordan Kadlik (Kennebunk, ME) who placed fourth (84, +12), senior Matthew Quigley (Sturbridge, MA) who added seventh (88, +16) and Nick Masciadrelli registered seventh (89, +17).

Sophomore David Rixham (Northbridge, MA) was the runner-up for the Lancers with a final card of 80 (+8) while freshman Jackson Davis (Spencer, MA) was right behind in third place with an 81 (+9).

For the Blue and Gold, first-year Brendan Dugan (Sutton, MA) and Zach Poirier (Sturbridge, MA) also placed sixth (87, +15) and tied for eighth (89, +17), respectively.

The top finisher for Becker was third-year Ryan Benson (Methuen, MA) who came in fifth place (87, +15) to lead the Hawks.
