WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University men's ice hockey sophomore goalkeeper, Cory Lignelli (Glastonbury, Conn.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) goalkeeper of the week, as announced by the conference Monday (Nov. 14) afternoon.
Lignelli made 49 saves with a .942 save percentage in a 1-0-1 week for the Lancers. He earned his first collegiate win with 22 saves in the 4-1 win over Framingham State, and then stopped 27 shots in 65 minutes of play in the 2-2 draw with Fitchburg State.
The Lancers men's ice hockey team returns to action on Thursday (Nov. 17) when they host Westfield State in an 8:30 p.m. puck drop at the Hart Center.
