Sliwoski Finishes Holy Cross Decathlon In Sixth Place

 

Worcester, MA --- Sophomore Jason Sliwoski (Leicester, MA) wrapped up the second day of the Holy Cross Decathlon with sixth place finishing with 5,655 points and with the second highest sum for a Division III competator.

With his total this evening, Sliwoski is now ranked fourth in the latest Division III New England rankings, seventh on the ECAC Division III sheet and 20th in the All-Division New Enlgand standings.

Junior Stefano Combi (Montza, Italy) of Northeaster edged out freshman Thomas Bove (Port Jefferson, NY) of Roger Williams for the top spot with 6,136 points.

Sliwoski's best event of the day was the 110 meter hurdles as he tied for third with a time of 16.76. He placed fourth in the discus (31.99m/104-11.25), recorded fifth in the javelin (45.04m/147-9.25) and he added fifth in the pole vault (10-8). Sliwoski ended his meet with ninth in the 1,500 (5:05.05).

 The Lancers will run again at the Fitchburg State Invitational this weekend.


Wednesday's Recap

Worcester, MA --- Sophomore Jason Sliwoski (Leicester, MA) placed sixth out of 13 competators on the first day of the Holy Cross Decathlon this afternoon. He finished inside the top 10 in each of his five events for the Lancers.

Sliwoski would end his afternoon with 3,036 points which was good for the third highest score for a Division III competator. He is just 561 points off of leader Stefano Combi's (Montza, Italy) of Northeastern's tally of 3,597 points.

His best event of the afternoon was the 400 meter dash where he sprinted to fourth with a time of 52.63 followed by his shot put toss, which was the fifth-best total (10.91m/35-9.50).

Sliwoski also tied for sixth in the high jump (1.80m/5-10.75), added eighth in the long jump (5.73m/18-9.50) and ninth in the 100 (12.04).

He will compete in the 110 meter hurdles, the discus, the pole vault, the javelin and the 1,500 meter run tomorrow.
