Sliwoski Takes Home Sixth On First Day At Holy Cross Decathlon

 

Worcester, MA --- Junior Jason Sliwoski (Leicester, MA) scored 3231 points on the first day of the Holy Cross Decathlon this afternoon to finish in sixth place as the top Division III competitor. 

After the opening day of the decathlon, he is just 100 points out of the top spot held by Nicholas Ingham (Ludlow, MA) of UMass Amherst.

Sliwoski put up the second-highest shot put (39-10.75/12.16m) and three top-10 finishes in the 100 (11.46 – 8th), 400 (53.01 – 8th) and the long jump (19-11.75/6.09m – 10th). He also had the 11th-best high jump (5-9.25/1.76m) in a field that included 20 competitors.

Sliwoski is chasing the school record (6113 points) that is currently held by Jason Monette and set at Holy Cross in 2005.

Last outdoor season, Sliwoski earned All-Division III New England's, Open New England's and with 6077 points he was second overall at the ECAC Division III Championships.
