Worcester, MA- For the first time this season, junior Emma Lanpher (Charlton, MA) has been selected as the MASCAC Player of the Week.
Lanpher batted .538 (7-13) with two doubles, a triple, five RBI, two walks, stolen base and three runs scored with a .600 on-base percentage and .846 slugging percentage in a 3-1 week for the Lancers. Went 5-for-7 with two doubles, a triple, three runs scored and four RBI in the doubleheader sweep of Mass. Maritime. Finished with two hits and a RBI in the 5-4 win over Wellesley.
Worcester State Softball will be back in action on Wednesday at 4pm when they host Fitchburg State in the first round of the MASCAC Softball Playoffs with the winner then advancing on to the conference quarterfinals to face either Westfield or Framingham State.
