Worcester, MA- After a Winter Break swing of games down in Georgia, the Worcester State Women's basketball team have once again claimed the MASCAC Rookie of the Week Honors as first year Alana Smith (Chicopee, MA) claimed this week's honors.
Smith averaged 11 points and 13.5 rebounds in two games for the Lancers. She netted her second career double-double with 16 points and 20 rebounds in the set-back to Piedmont and she finished with six points, seven rebounds and a block in the 65-58 setback to Oglethorpe. Currently in the season Smith has recorded 76 points, 84 rebounds and seven blocks.
The Lancers return to action on Saturday January 6th when they open up MASCAC play versus Fitchburg State at 12pm.
