Thursday, March 19, 2015 - "Goodbye Clearwater"

This morning we woke up at 7:30 AM for a team workout at the park across the street. It was short and sweet but got us moving and sweating after the past two hard games that we have WON!! after the run we all went back up to our rooms to grab our bags to check out and then ate breakfast. By 9:00 we were on our way to the beach for the last time :( we also stopped at Dunks again.

Today we went to a beach farther down than Clearwater Beach, the other one that we went to earlier in the week. We did some shopping at the little shops and then set up on the sand! We took way too many pictures (obviously) and had so much fun playing in the water. We were on our own for lunch so it was nice and quick so we could get right back on the beach!

As a few of us were frolicking in the water a stingray came flying out of the waves multiple times and I don't think we have ran so fast since.  From there on out we stayed on the beach baking in the sun.

After many hours at the beach we left and headed back to the hotel. All 21 of us had only one shower we could use before dinner and our flight home. It was stressful and a mess to say the least. Some how it all worked out and we were ready for dinner at 5:00 PM.

A few members of the team jumped in the pool and took underwater pictures. Also some took an outside shower at the pool. Our last supper was chicken and rice. After dinner we loaded the vans and left the hotel en route to A&W and Dairy Queen.

We arrived at the airport way too energized after listening to the teams favorite song ("Want You To Want Me" by Jason Derulo) on repeat the entire 45 minutes to the airport. When we all piled out of the vans the team had a dance party in the parking garage, causing a scene everywhere we went.

Once we got into the airport and got settled in, many members went to charge their phones while others stopped and got endless chips and salsa at Chilli's.

We are all aboard the plane for a nice peaceful flight home. We are not excited to come back to the Worcester snow, but can't wait to see our families. The trip was definitely one for the books and we have had so many memories that we will cherish forever. We are excited for the rest of the season and now are a lot closer as a team. Thanks for the support!

Our next game is Wednesday evening at Umass Dartmouth. Come cheer us on!

We hope you enjoyed our blog and you felt like you were on the trip with us!!

Over and out,

Lawlz, Condog, and Grass

Wednesday, March 18, 2015 - "Kaila’s Plastic Bag & The Missing Puzzle Piece"

This morning we woke up at 9 AM for a team breakfast and team bonding. Team bonding consisted of building a puzzle from the survival kits Ms. Pruyn made us (Jackie Connors lost her puzzle piece) and a couple of hand games that got a little too rowdy.

After team bonding we had a nice relaxing couple of hours before our game at 2:30 PM. Lunch was PB and J sandwiches.

While we were doing our pre game rituals, we noticed that Kaila Chase had a white trash bag as her lacrosse bag because she packed in her regular lacrosse duffel bag for the flight home. It was quite interesting and the team got a lot of laughs from it.

Our game was long and hot, but we came out on top once again continuing our undefeated season. Our goalie Lea Robichaud had a great game and was a trooper when she got a dangerous shot right to her neck.

After the game we had twenty five minutes to get ready before we headed off to the Presidents dinner in Davenport. We also got to see the baseball and softball teams at the dinner. It was nice to see other Lancers down in Florida also playing games and enjoying the weather.

Following dinner, naturally we were still hungry and stopped at the Golden Arches to grab a quick bite before heading back to our hotel for the night.

Tomorrow morning we have an early team work out before a full day at the beach so right to bed for the Lady Laxers!

Good night, sleep tight, and don't let the bed bugs bite,

JL,JC, and AG

Tuesday, March 17, 2015 - "A Win On St. Patricks Day & A Team Cookout"

Top of the morning avid followers! Happy St Patricks Day from Florida!

We woke up to the sun shining on a gorgeous game day! The team met for morning breakfast at 8:45 AM followed by our pregame rituals. Then we were off to the field ready to dominate!

The team was fired up to see WSU Sports Information Director Steve Miller dressed in green as he brought the luck of Irish with him! The team adjusted to the heat well and started off strong in a more physical game than we are used to.

At half we were ahead 10-4 against Hope College. Alaina Martin family brought us orange slices at halftime to refuel us. We kept the good work and ended the game with a score of 20-10. It the first win of our spring break trip under our belts.

After the game we rushed back to our rooms to shower while Meghan Pini, our team manager, had a record breaking turnaround with washing our uniforms to save the whole hotel from our stench. We enjoyed a sit down lunch at a restaurant on Clearwater Beach and then were off to Mackenzie Little's moms house for a team cookout. Of course, before we started our two hour journey to Tampa we needed a Dunkin Donut stop. Angelina Sutherland asked if we were getting donuts after we were stuffed from lunch...

We made the drive to Tampa for a team cookout at Mackenzie Little's moms house. The evening started off with team skits with a slight plot twist. The team decided to do a group skit to the teams favorite song. We used our team lift made by Jack Sprague, our student volunteer strength and conditioning coach and transformed it to dance moves. The team shared many laughs and stories, ESP Erin Moloney sharing a story none of us would have ever guessed!

The night ended with a quiet drive back to our hotel in preparation for our final game tomorrow against SUNY Morrisville.

Until tomorrow,

Jlaw, Condog, and Jelly

Monday, March, 16, 2015 - "Team Games, Dinner & Dairy Queen"

Lucky us we got to sleep in this morning. Breakfast was at 9 AM that followed with a team trip to the park across the street from the hotel. The team played games and enjoyed some relaxed bonding together. Katelyn Murphy took the win on most camp activities. After, we rushed back to the hotel for another day at the beach. The team lathered up with sun screen again in preparation for the game tomorrow.

The beach was another great time and we even bought a nerf football for some games in and out of the water. We left the beach to head back to the hotel to get ready for practice. Alexa Harvey got a little too much sun on her legs so she decided to wear long pants during practice even though its 83 degrees out. Krissy Pessa took a hard shot to the knee by Kaila Chase and the ball marked 17 was imprinted on her knee. It's the little things that keep us entertained. We had a great practice before our 11 AM matchup against Hope College tomorrow.

Dinner consisted of the teams favorite, chicken parm, pasta, and salad. After dinner we shipped off to Dairy Queen and naturally it was free cone day. We took over the place and most of us got two free ice cream cones.

After dessert, we made a game time decision to go to the beach to see the sunset. We all jumped out of the vans and sprinted to the shore as if we never saw water before. Obviously we all had to take pictures to capture the moments we had here in Clearwater Florida. On the way back, we saw a Michael Jackson impersonator and Alexis Vecchiarelli decided to join in and went a little harder than him.

The team ended the night by working on the skits that we will perform tomorrow during dinner.

We are fired up and excited for our first game!

Sweet dreams from the WSU lady laxers captains

Sunday, March 15, 2 015 - "Double Sessions & A Trip To The Beach"

This morning we had 7:45 breakfast at our hotel. Breakfast consisted of cereal, bagels and toast, eggs, ham, and fruit. Most laxers lathered up with sunscreen because we don't want everyone burnt again like last year. We did AM selfie with the selfie stick and we were off to our 9-11 AM practice.

Practice went great with not too much goofiness. Our pra ended early and headed back to our hotels to change for lunch and the beach. We grabbed subs on the way and headed to the water!!

We jumped in the ocean with no hesitation after we coated our bodies with SPF 100 (aka tanning oil.) The beach trip lasted for only couple hours so we didn't get too burnt. Unfortunately, Chloe Anderson took one for the team and is as a red as a tomato. Had to happen to someone!

Before leaving, most of the team was in the water so we had chicken fights! Angela Grassetti and (Team Manager) Meghan Pini vs. Jackie Lawlor and Amanda Pruyn. The winners were the sister pair from last year, Jackie L and Amanda, keeping the chemistry going!

After the beach we had an afternoon practice from 4-5:30 PM. It was another successful practice gearing us up for our first game on Tuesday against Hope College. Dinner was at 6:30 PM in our hotel lobby. Obviously that did not satisfy us so we took a team trip to Coldstone Creamery. The coaches surprised us with the morning off tomorrow after all of our hard work. Instead we are doing a team activity at the park across the street :)

Early night for the girls to catch up on sleep and be ready for what tomorrow brings!

Saturday, March 14, 2015 - "A Win Over Colby-Sawyer & Traveling To Florida"

Hello fans! The day started with a rainy and cold 13-7 win against Colby Sawyer. We had a team and family tailgate after before our families sent us off to FLORIDA! Amanda Pruyn's mother made us all survival kits for our lacrosse week ahead. Mackenzie Callini brought a selfie stick to capture all our moments so stay tuned!

Getting to the airport went smoothly. Everyone was cravings Dunkin Donuts and obviously we got what we wanted. As we were sitting there waiting for our plane, we overheard that Mackenzie Little believed until yesterday that the president of the United States was coming to the "Presidents Dinner." The Presidents dinner is on Wednesday evening with the president of our school, Barry Maloney, our athletic director, Mike Mudd, and the baseball and softball teams.

As we boarded the plane the stewardess asked one of the team members who the biggest trouble maker on the team was.... Obviously Molly Kilday. As she was going over the safety instructions she announced on the intercom, "Is there a Molly Kilday on the plane? Your bag opened up under the plane and your Spongebob square pants pajamas fell out of your bag, but we put them back in."

We landed safely in 75 degree weather very grumpy, tired, and hungry. We retrieved our van, well in Coach Kelly's (Downs) case, space shuttle and headed to our hotel. We checked in and headed to our rooms. Luckily the hotel is right next to a 7-Eleven, so we were all very happy to have our midnight snacks. Sweet dreams for the lady laxers with an early AM practice.
