
Westfield, Mass. — Framingham State attack Hailey Baker and midfielder Maggie Grout are the 2025 MASCAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year and headline the All-Conference teams which are voted on by the coaches from around the league.
Baker, a senior attack from Peabody, Mass., helped the Rams to 4-2 league record during the MASCAC campaign. She finished with 82 points on 28 goals and 54 assists. Her assist numbers led the conference while she also collected 31 ground balls, 20 draw controls and 13 caused turnovers this season. She was 10-for-13 on free position goals while compiling a 87.3 shots on goal percentage. Twice this season she finished with 10 points in a game, including the win over Salem State where she had three goals and seven assists then the win over Fitchburg State where she had two goals and eight assists.
Earning the 2025 MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year is Grout, a senior midfielder from W. Springfield, Mass. As part of the Rams defensive crew, she helped them hold opponents to a 40.7 shooting percentage while she was crucially in the open space transition from defense to offense. Grout collected 32 ground balls while causing 21 turnovers. She also tallied 17 goals and 14 assists with 26 draw controls. In the win over Colby-Sawyer, Grout had four ground balls and five caused turnovers while adding two draws in the win.
Skaff, a freshman goalie from Lowell, Mass. takes home the 2025 MASCAC Rookie of the Year honors after finishing first in the league with 13 wins which is the fourth-highest single season total in school history. Started 18 of 19 games this season with a 9.97 goals against average, 48.3 save percentage and 153 saves on the year. Eight times this season Skaff recorded double digit saves, tallying 15 twice, including the 13-9 season-opening win for the Bears over Salve Regina.
After leading the Lancers to a share of the MASCAC regular season title and the top seed in the tournament, Kelly Downs of Worcester State has been named the 2025 BSN Sports Coach of the Year as voted by her peers.
Earning a spot on the 2025 MASCAC First Team with Baker and Grout are Camryn Gonsalves and Meredith Sylvia of Bridgewater State, Kaleigh Houlihan and Molly Lanier of Framingham State, Mykenzie Black, Olivia Hadla, Paige Jelliffe and Emma Prattson of Westfield State and Mckayla Fisher, Olivia LaValle and Abbie Wing of Worcester State.
On this year’s MASCAC Second-Team All-Conference squad are Hannah Bowlby and Erin McIntyre of Bridgewater State, Jessica St. George of Fitchburg State, Leah Green of Framingham State, Caleigh Tompkins of Mass. Maritime, Kara Banagan, Kylie Buchanan and Natalie DeMaio of Westfield State and Jordyn Collins, Ava Gesner, Madigan Kelley and Molly Witkowski of Worcester State.
