Becker 6, Worcester State 3
Leicester, MA --- Becker posted victories in four singles and two doubles matches to post a 6-3 triumph over Worcester State this afternoon in women's tennis action.
In singles action Laura Mims (Ashland, MA), Danielle Stryker (Leyard, CT), Shawna McNally (Worcester, MA/Bourne) and Jesse Burdick (Clinton, MA) all won second, third, fourth and fifth flights, repectively. In the doubles matches, Megan Nessen (Levittown, PA) paired with Mimms and Stryker teamed with McNally to win their first and second doubles matchups, 8-2 and 8-3.
The lone victories for the Lancers included Courteney Blais (Paxton, MA) and Lauren Cain (Framingham, MA) while Nicole Sellner (N. Attleboro, MA) along with Danielle Lehman (Westminster, MA) to take third doubles, 8-1. Blais and Nissan split sets in the first two sets before Blais rallied in to win the tiebreaker, 7-4. Cain improved to 3-0 on the season as she won her set 7-4.
Worcester State will play Salem State on the road on Thursday at 3:30 while the Hawks travel to St. Joes (CT) on Wednesday for a 4 PM contest.
