Salem, MA --- The Worcester State College Lancers won their ninth consecutive match when they defeated the Lady Vikings, 3-0, in a Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) contest played at James Twohig Gymnasium.

The Lancers (16-5 overall; 4-0 MASCAC), who have won 13 of their last 14 matches, took the first game, 25-18; game two by the score of 25-16 and completed the sweep with a 25-16 decision in game three.

Junior Lauren Saylor (Swansea, MA) tallied 15 kills and eight digs while sophomore Michelle Maass (Halifax, MA) and Colleen O'Brien (Shrewsbury, MA) each notched nine digs. Freshman Brittany Stoddard (Orange, MA) handed out 31 assists while O'Brien also added one solo block.

The Lady Vikings (5-10 overall; 1-2 MASCAC) were led by freshman libero Kim Pierce, who recorded 18 digs, and freshman setter Brittany Roscoe who collected 11 assists.

SSC's next match will Tuesday, October 21 when the Lady Vikings travel to Bridgewater State College for a 6:00 pm MASCAC contest against the Lady Bears.
