Gillis Named Player of the Week for Top-Seeded Lancers

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- A few days after helping Worcester State women's volleyball complete a perfect regular season in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) play, senior outside hitter Natalie Gillis (Ashland, Mass.) has been named MASCAC Player of the Week.

The awards were selected and announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Gillis averaged 11.67 kills, 13.33 digs with two block assists in a three-match week for the Lancers and saved her best performance for the conference finale. She had 18 kills and 15 digs while hitting .531 in the match in the 3-0 win over Framingham State to help Worcester State go 7-0 in MASCAC play for the third time in the last four seasons.

Gillis also had a double-double (10 kills, 10 digs) in a game against Regis College and recorded 15 digs on the road at Rhode Island College. 

The Lancers have earned a bye into the MASCAC semifinals and will host either MCLA or Bridgewater State next Thursday at 7:30.
