Women's Cross Country Finishes 16th at James Earley Invitational

 

Westfield, MA --- Senior Erin Donohue (Saugus, MA) finished 45th out of 453 competitors with a time of 24:03 to help lead Worcester State to a 16th place finish at the  James Earley Invitational held at Stanley Park this afternoon.

Nationally-ranked Middlebury placed first and paced a field that included 43 institutions from New England and New York.

Out of seven MASCAC schools that competed in the event the Lancers finished second only behind Westfield State and with her finish Donohue was fourth among MASCAC runners. This bolds well for the MASCAC Championships held in three weeks which will be held at Stanley Park.

Junior Ali Barrett (Hingham, MA) recorded in 110th place (25:21) as classmate Jenna Pickard (Peabody, MA) was also able to crack the top 150 as she landed in 123rd place clocking a time of 25:31.

Senior Brittany Grueter (Foxboro, MA) raced her way to 156th place (25:57) while sophomore Jennifer Cardinal (Chicopee, MA) finished 49 seconds behind in 165th.

Senior Natalie Marchi (Northbridge, MA) crossed the finish line at 26:19 earning her 181st position and sophomore Chelsey Peso (Uxbridge, MA) added 201st to round out the group (26:38).

Next week the Lancers will head to the Western New England University Invitational held on their campus course.
