
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men's and Women's basketball programs will be kicking off their 2023-24 seasons in exciting fashion in a Tip Off Madness Night! The men host cross-town rival, the WPI Engineers, on November 8th at 6pm, while the Women host Eastern Nazarene in the nightcap, at 8pm.
Doors to the Wellness Center will open at 5:15pm, where attendees are asked to come dressed in blue in order to "Blue Out" the stands. Free blue T-shirts commemorating the special night will be handed out to the first 400 Worcester State students that arrive through the doors. In addition, a halftime raffle drawing will be held, providing some lucky fans the opportunity to win a selection of prizes.
Admission will be free to both games but only Worcester State Students, WPI and Eastern Nazarene students and immediate family members of the student-athletes participating in the games will be allowed into the building. Student ID's must be presented at the doors in order to gain access. Worcester State students should enter the building at the Lake Ellie entrance of the Wellness Center while WPI/Eastern Nazarene students and all credentialed guests and family members should enter the Wellness Center at the North Lot entrance. No food, beverages, backpacks or purses will be allowed in the building.
Performances during halftime will include the Worcester State Cheer and Dance teams. 15 lucky Worcester State students will also have a chance to make a half- court shot with the first person that makes a basket with their one opportunity winning a $250 Gift Card compliments of the Follet Bookstore.
