Davis Named GNAC Golfer Of The Week

Boston, MA --- Junior Jackson Davis (Spencer, MA) has been selected Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Golfer of the Week for a stellar performance at the Emmanuel Quadrangle match last week at the par 70 William J. Devine Course (Franklin Park).

Davis earned medalist accolades with a final card of 74 (+4) to help Worcester State take home the team trophy as the squad collectively scored a 12 stroke victory over the next highest team in the standings.

This season Davis emerged as one of WSU's top two golfers at some of their most competitive matches.

At Trinity to open the campaign, Davis tied for 13th with a 153 (+9) over two rounds and he followed that performance by tying for 59th among 125 golfers at the two-day Middlebury Invitational – which included a 79 (+8) in the final round. On September 24 at Elms, he was just outside of the top 10, equaling 14th place with an 80 (+10).

The Lancers will vie for an NCAA Division III Tournament bid this weekend at the two-day GNAC Championships starting this Saturday at the Ponkapoag Golf Course in Canton.
