Worcester State Men's Ice Hockey Announces 2024-25 Season Schedule

Worcester, MA- Head Coach Jay Punsky, in his second season heading up the Worcester State University Lancers Men’s Ice Hockey, is pleased to announce the 2024-25 Men’s Ice Schedule. After a playoff appearance last season, Worcester is aiming to return to the MASCAC Championship game and claim their first MASCAC Championship. The squad is led by senior goalkeeping duo Jakub Kubik and Wyatt Friedlander and senior Drew Eid along with a plethora of returning and new talent to the program.

“We finished last season playing a very strong brand of hockey and we look to carry that over to the start of this season” says Punsky. “With 11 seniors we are very motivated to have a great season. “

The Lancer’s season will open in traditional fashion with the annual WooCup Tournament that sees Anna Maria, Worcester, Assumption and Nichols begin in a season opening tournament. This year’s tournament will be hosted by Worcester State University with games scheduled for November 1st and with championship and consolation games on November 3rd. The Lancers will continue home ice for their third game of the season when they welcome Morrisville to the Fidelity Ice Center. November 13th will see Worcester finally hitting the road to face off against Suffolk before two days later heading to Plymouth State to open the conference schedule. November 21st brings the lancers back to the Center when they host new MASCAC foe Rivier and staying local to host Fitchburg State on November 23rd. Worcester will then take a step away from the conference slate when Post travels to the 508 for a post-Thanksgiving battle on the ice.

The last two games of 2024 will see one away and one home in conference play as the Lancers travel to Westfield State on December 5th, before hosting another new conference addition in Anna Maria on the 7th. As the calendar swaps to 2025 the conference season will be in full swing as the blue and gold travel to UMass-Dartmouth on January 9th while remaining on the road to face MCLA on January 11th. Worcester will then return home for two conference matches with Plymouth State on January 16th and Framingham State on the 18th. The remainder of the month will see the blue and Gold on the road as they travel to Salem State on January 23rd, Rivier on the 25th, and Fitchburg State on the 30th.

February 1st will bring Worcester home to welcome Westfield State before facing Anna Maria on the road on the 6th. The Lancers will then begin a three-game home stand that will bring UMass-Dartmouth on the 8th, Framingham State on the 11th and MCLA to the home ice on February 13th. A late out of conference matchup will send the Blue and Gold to Keene State on the 15th before the final weekend will send Worcester to Framingham State on the 20th before hosting their senior night, to honor the work and dedication of the senior class, on February 22nd versus Salem State.
