Hebert Paces Men's Cross Country At Jim Sheehan Invitational

 

Fitchburg, MA --- Sophomore Wesley Hebert (Leominster, MA) clocked 27:40 for 11th place as he helped propel Worcester State to third-place at the Jim Sheehan Invitational this afternoon at Cogshell Park's 4.75 mile course in their season opener.

The three-team race was won by the Fitchburg State Alumni team paced by former Falcon standout Chris Kibler who ran a time of 24:59. The Alumni team scored 25 points, followed by the current Fitchburg State team who netted 30 points and the Lancers had 76 points as a team.

Sophomoe Patrick Bova (Princeton, MA) added 14th as junior Pat Daley (Millbury, MA), third-year Connor O'Neill (Dudley, MA) and senior Kerry Sabanty (Stoughton, MA) all came in 17th (28:33), 18th (29:18) and 19th (29:24), respectively.

The group was rounded out by second-year Adam Pepin (Paxton, MA) 22nd (30:35) in the field that included 36 runners.

The Lancers will compete again next Saturday at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational.
