
Worcester, MA- With their 17th Straight Win the Worcester State Softball team took home the 2025 MASCAC Championship crown with a 5-3 win over Framingham State. Along with the title, the Lancers also claimed a MASCAC Championship MVP and to player of the week honors during their post season run. Sophomore’s Peyton Maloney (West Boylston, MA), MASCAC Championship MVP, and Cali Brouillard (Millbury, MA) were named this week’s MASCAC players of the week. Maloney would claim the Pitcher of the Week honors while Brouillard took home the Player of the Week accolades.
Maloney earned MASCAC Tournament MVP honors after going 2-0 over 16 innings with a 1.31 ERA, nine strikeouts and three earned runs for the Lancers. In the quarterfinal win over Westfield State, she had five strikeouts no earned runs on five hits. In the title game Sunday, she threw a complete game, giving up one earned run and seven hits with two strikeouts to lead the Lancers to their first tournament crown since 2016.
Brouillard batted .375 (3-8) with a double, four RBI, three walks, two runs scored and a stolen base to help the Lancers to the MASCAC Tournament title. Had a hit and run scored in the first round and quarterfinal wins over MCLA and Framingham State. Knocked in three RBI with a double and two walks in the 5-3 championship win over Framingham State.
Worcester State remains in action with a game at 12pm at Moravian on Thursday, May 15th in the NCAA Regionals.
