Buzzards Bay, MA --- Junior Andrea Ouellette has been tabbed this week's MASCAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week for her performance this past week at the New England Division III Championships.
Ouellette, who hails from Salisbury, MA, posted a fourth place finish in the triple jump (11.22 meters) to earn All-New England honors while she also added 10th in the long jump (5.02 meters). Ouellette capped off her day with a personal best time of 9.13 in the semifinals of the 55 meter hurdles as she placed 12th overall.
The Lancers tied for 14th place with Wesleyan as freshman Briana Wise (Worcester, MA/Burncoat) notched seventh in the 55 meter dash and the 200 while the 4x200 relay team and the 4x800 relay team both broke school records. For her efforts, Wise was named to this week's MASCAC Women's Track honor roll.
Ouellette, who qualified provisionally for the 2009 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships and broke the school's outdoor triple jump mark last outdoor season, looks to do the same this weekend when she competes at the All-New England Championships at Boston University. Ouellette was .01 meters away from provisionally qualifying for the Indoor Championships at Depauw University.
