Kralian, Arnold Tabbed as MASCAC Women's Track Athletes of the Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Sophomore standout Mara Kralian (N. Grafton, MA) along with freshman Mercedes Arnold (Mira Loma, CA) have been named as MASCAC Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their performances this past weekend at the Harvard Open. For Kralian, this is her second straight MASCAC Weekly honor.

Kralian, who was named the Women's MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week, placed third in the 60 meter dash (7.96) and second place in the long jump with a leap of 5.45 meters as she set the school record in the 60 and reset her own mark in the long jump. Kralian's long jump mark that was set last week (5.44 meters) provisionally qualified her for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.

Arnold, the Women's MASCAC Field Athlete of the Week, hit qualifying distances for the ECAC Championships at the beginning of March as she placed sixth in the triple jump (10.95 meters) and eighth in the long jump (5.15 meters).

Worcester State will take a break until January 16 when they head to Medford, MA for the Tufts Invitational.
