Wise, Kralian Honored As MASCAC Track and Field Athletes of the Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Junior Briana Wise (Worcester, MA/Burncoat) and senior Mara Kralian (N. Grafton, MA) have been named MASCAC Track & Field Athletes of the Week for their performances this past weekend at the University of New Hampshire Invitational. Both were instrumental in the squad's fourth-place finish that featured Division I and II competition.

Wise, who was tabbed the conferences track athlete, placed second in both the 55 meters (7.33) and 200 meters (26.17). She was only 0.02 seconds off tying the school-mark in the 55 meters as she posted her best time this season in the event.

Wise is currently ranked the top female in the latest Division III New England standings in both the 60 (7.89) and the 200 (25.58).

Wise, who was honored as the MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week last week for her standout accomplishment in the 60 at the Tufts Invitational, posted the 12th best time in the NCAA Division III and the 19th highest time in All-Divisions of New England.

Kralian, who shared this week's field honors with senior Amanda Gricus (Marion, MA) of Westfield State, took home top honors in the long jump (5.21m/17-1.25) while adding a fifth in the 55 meters (7.52). Kralian's best leap this season allowed her to stamp her ticket for the ECAC Championships as is currently tied for the fifth-best jump in Division III New England.

Next week select Lancers will compete at the Terrier Invitational hosted by Boston University on Friday and at the MIT Invitational on Saturday.
