New York, NY --- Junior Briana Wise (Worcester, MA/Burncoat) and sophomore Christy Deininger (N. Attleboro, MA) combined for 29 of Worcester State's 31 points at the ECAC Division III Championships to help the Lancers finish in ninth place out of 56 teams this afternoon at the NYC Armory.

The Lancers tied the 1995-96 team for the second-highest finish ever at the ECAC's while they shattered the previous scoring record which was set during the 1996-97 campaign (23 points). WSU also had the fourth-best place for a public insitution behind Cortland State, Rowan and Geneseo State.

Wise captured her fourth-straight 200 meter title as she reset the Armory and meet record with a blistering time of 24.69 before she clocked third in the 60 meters (7.80) for All-ECAC accolades.

Deininger placed second in the 60 meter hurdles (9.00), just six hundredths of a second off the leader, and she also chipped in with fourth in the 60 meters (7.82) for a pair of All-ECAC certificates.

Freshman Amanda Caldarone (Danvers, MA) also earned All-ECAC laurels with seventh in the long jump (5.26m/17-3).

The 4x400 meter relay team of sophomore Megan Taylor (Danvers, MA) and freshman teammates Brittany Hodgerney (Leicester, MA), Kim West (Harvard, MA) and Alexandria McMahon (E. Longmeadow, MA) shattered the school record in 14th with a time of 4:01.51.

Taylor placed 9th in the 500 (1:18.66) before junior Erin Donohue (Saugus, MA) finished 18th in the 3,000 meters (10:45.74) and first-year Liz Bodensieck (Raynham, MA) added 25th in the 200 (26.64).

Freshman Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA) notched 33rd in the 200 (27.03) to round out the competators.

Wise will await word on whether she made field for next weeks NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships at Grinnell College in Iowa. Her first-place title in the 60 meters (7.78) is currently tied for 10th on the latest performance sheet.
