Worcester, MA --- First-year standout Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA) ended the Holy Cross Heptathlon in fourth out of 18 competators. With 3,890 points, she moved into the fifth-highest score in the latest Division III New England Rankings.
Jasper is also now seventh in tonight's ECAC Division III rankings and 13th on the Open New England chart. Senior Nicholle Adams (Schoharie, NY) of Hartford won the meet with 4,059 points as Jasper was second to Bridgewater State's Carrie Robitaille (Ludlow, MA) tally of 3,960 points as the second-highest DIII finisher.
Jasper had the top javelin throw on the afternoon with a toss of 34.36 meters (112-8.75) before she wrapped up competition with sixth-best 800 (2:39.94) and the 12th highest long jump (4.59m/15-0.50).
The Lancers will compete at the Fitchburg State Invitational this weekend.

Worcester, MA --- Freshman Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA) notched seventh out of a field of 18 competators with 2,306 points at todays Holy Cross Heptathlon. She was the second-highest Division III finisher after the first round out of 11 entrants.
After the first round Jasper is just 321 points off of the top spot held by Shantel Noble (Hartford, CT) of AIC.
Jasper impressed with a second-place toss of 10.37 meters (34-0.25) in the shot put before she came in sixth in the 200 meters (27.32). She added the ninth-highest 100 meter hurdles time (16.91) and the 15th best high jump (1.35m/4-5).
Jasper took home ninth this past indoor season in the pentathlon with a score of 2,920 points - just 60 points away from earning All-New England accolades.
Tomorrow she wraps up competition with the long jump, the javelin throw and the 800 meters.
